CRPF Recruitment Eligibility Criteria

Citizenship: Applicants need to be an Indian national.

 

Age Criteria:

 

Constable (Driver) : Applicant’s age range needs to be between 21-27 years as of 1st January 2026.

 

Other posts : Applicant’s age range needs to be between 18-23 years as of 1st January 2026.

 

Age Relaxation : Age relaxation will be done based on the following table:

 

 SC/ST: 5 years

 OBC/ MOBC: 3 years

 

Educational Qualification: Candidate should hold a 10th-class board examination or its equivalent from any recognized educational board/university.

 

Technical Qualifications:

 

Driver : Must hold a valid Heavy Transport Vehicle Driving license and must clear the driving test during recruitment.

 

Mechanic Motor Vehicle: Must hold a two-year ITI course in Motor Vehicle Mechanic from a recognized body such as National or State Council for Vocational training. Moreover, candidates must also have a minimum of one year of relevant experience in the particular trade.

 

OR

 

National or State apprenticeship certificate for three years in the Motor Vehicle Mechanic trade from a recognized body and minimum of one year of relevant practical experience in the concerned trade.

Pioneer Wing:

 

a) One year’s work experience in respective trades like Masonry or Electrician.

b) Preference will be given to candidates holding certificate of trade from any recognized Industrial Training Institute.

 

Other Tradesmen posts : Proficient and should have worked in respective trades.

Selection Process for CRPF Constable Posts

 

The process of selection will include PET, PST, CBT, Trade/Skill test, Document verification (DV), and Medical Examination (DME/RME).

 

Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

 

Candidates need to qualify the PET (Race) in the given time period:

 

Physical Standard Test (PST)

 

The PST will be conducted for those candidates who successfully qualify the PET. The PST will include tests like measuring the candidate’s height, chest, and weight.

 

Height:

   Male: Minimum Height of 170 cms

   Female: Minimum Height of 157 cms

 

Relaxation in Height is available for some candidates.

 Candidates from NE states:

       Male: 162.5 cms

      Female: 152.5 cms

 

 Chest:

Un-Expanded Chest: 80 Cms with minimum expansion of 05 Cms.

 

Some candidates are allowed Relaxation in chest measurement that includes ST and candidates from NE states.

 

Measurement of Chest for females will not be conducted.

 

 Weight:

As Per Medical Standards.

Computer-Based Test (CBT)

 

The Computer-Based Test would comprise one objective-type paper having 100 questions, each of which carries 100 marks. The composition of questions is as follows:

 

Note: There will be negative marking of 0.25 MARKS per incorrect response.

 

Trade Test

 

a) Candidates who have qualified in CBT shall be shortlisted for Trade Test.

b) The Trade/Skill test would be based on practical evaluation, and the qualifying mark for the same would be 20 out of 50 marks.
