Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet specific educational qualifications depending on the level they wish to teach (Free Job Alert, 2026):

1. Primary Stage (Paper I: Classes I–V)

Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).

OR Graduation with at least 50% marks and a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) from a recognized institution.

2. Elementary Stage (Paper II: Classes VI–VIII)

Graduation and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.

OR Graduation with at least 50% marks and a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).

OR Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).

Exam Pattern & Syllabus

The CTET consists of two papers, each containing 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) to be completed in 150 minutes. There is no negative marking.

Paper I: Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I, Language II, Mathematics, and Environmental Studies.

Paper II: Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I, Language II, and either Mathematics/Science or Social Studies/Social Science.
