•Sub-Registrar No.of posts- 4 Payscale - ₹22,000 – ₹97,000 (GP: ₹9,400)

Note: Additional vacancies are available for the Superintendent of Excise, Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies, and Urban Administrative Services.

Eligibility Criteria

To participate in the APSC CCE 2026, candidates must meet the following baseline requirements:

•Academic Qualification: A Graduate Degree from a recognized university.

•Age Limit: 21 to 38 years (as of January 1, 2025).

Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for •OBC/MOBC, and 10 years for PwBD.

•Language Proficiency: Proficiency in Assamese or other official/associate/tribal languages of the state is required.

•Residency: Must be an original inhabitant of Assam and registered with a District Employment Office.

The Selection Journey

The APSC CCE is a multi-stage rigorous process designed to identify the most capable leaders:

Stage I: Preliminary Examination

Format: Two objective-type papers (General Studies I & II).

Total Marks: 400.

Negative Marking: 0.25 marks deducted for every incorrect answer.

Stage II: Main Examination & Interview

Written Test: Six descriptive papers totaling 1500 marks. Answers can be written in English or Assamese.

Interview/Personality Test: A 180-mark evaluation focused on character and leadership potential.
