The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Assam, has officially invited applications for admission into the prestigious 3-year Diploma Courses offered across all State Government Polytechnics of Assam. This notice marks the commencement of the admission cycle for the academic session 2026-27.
Overview of the Program:
The Diploma in Engineering & Technology program is
designed to provide students with a strong technical foundation and practical industry
skills. These courses are recognized by the State Council for Technical
Education (SCTE) and are highly valued in both public and private sectors.
Course Duration: 3 Years (6 Semesters)
Total Government Polytechnics: 26 across Assam
Admission Basis: Merit-based (Marks obtained in HSLC/10th
Standard)

Eligibility Criteria:
Before applying, ensure you meet the following requirements
set by the DTE, Assam:
1. Educational Qualification
Must have passed the HSLC (10th Standard) or equivalent
examination from a recognized Board/Council.
Compulsory Subjects: Mathematics and Science.
Minimum Marks: * General/OBC/MOBC: 40% average in
Mathematics and Science.
SC Category: 35% average in Mathematics and Science.
ST Category: 33% average in Mathematics and Science.
2. Age Limit (As of Dec
31, 2026)
General/OBC/MOBC: Maximum 20 Years.
SC/ST: Maximum 23 Years.
3. Residential Requirement
The candidate must be a Permanent Resident of Assam.
(Permanent Resident Certificate or PRC will be required during admission).
